Nearing the Finish Line

We are in the midst of the final push to get the house done so we can move in before Christmas. We’ve had multiple delays over the past two months trying to trouble-shoot some issue that came up with staining on SIREWALL and within the concrete floors throughout the house. This is the challenge of using cutting-edge building techniques on a large scale, I suppose.

In the end, things are coming together and looking good and the crew is moving on to installation of the built-in’s (all from site-milled lumber), final painting with ECOS paints, installation of trim, baseboards, hardwood floors, and hardware throughout!

We have been increasingly involved in the finishing process, spending 20-20-30 hours per week on-site hand sanding and staining windows, trim, baseboards and deck boards. We are hoping to get certificate of occupancy late next week.

We are exhausted, thrilled, and wondering how to keep our heads on straight while trying to move during the holidays. But, actually, it’s a good reminder to slow down and focus on what matters. I am reminding myself that a warm bubble bath is just around the corner…

Kohler Cast Iron Tub goes in…now, all we need some hot water!

We’ll keep you posted. Happy Holidays to all.
